MDAA National Disability Insurance Scheme(NDIS) Appeals and Reviews
The NDIS is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers, The NDIS is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
How can MDAA help you?
MDAA helps you to identify your needs and goals in your NDIS plan. We can support you to ensure that you understand your NDIS rights and responsibilities. We can also assist you in making sure that you understand your decisions and how they affect your life. We provide support with requests for a review of an NDIA decision, if a decision is made that you disagree with and help through the review and appeals process.
What happens if you disagree with a decision made by the NDIA?
If the NDIA makes a decision that you do not agree with, you can request and internal review of that decision. MDAA can help you submit an application for an Internal Review.
If you still do not agree with the decision?
If you do not agree with the outcome of an internal review, you have the option of an external merits review process. This allows you to appeal an internal review decision, through the Administrative and Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
MDAA’s NDIS Appeals and Reviews Officers can support you throughout the (AAT) process including:
- the internal review of your plan
- to appeal an external review decision
- assistance with making an application to the AAT
- attending the AAT conferences and hearings
- support in presenting your case before the AAT
